getmaxim.ai/articles · keyword coverage audit
130 tracked keywords checked against all 1,171 published article URLs. Almost nothing is failing for lack of content. The head terms are failing because too many near-identical pages compete for them, and the genuine openings sit one step to the side of what has already been written.
Read first
The pattern in the position data is a signature, not noise. Keywords that sat at 1 for six consecutive checks (openrouter vs litellm, lightweight llm gateway, best mcp gateway, best ai gateway, open source mcp gateway, trustworthy ai) collapsed to page two or dropped out entirely within the same fortnight. Simultaneous, uniform decay across unrelated terms that share one thing — a saturated URL cluster — is what internal competition looks like after a ranking refresh picks a different canonical each crawl.
Root cause
Counts are published URLs whose slug matches the query intent, not loose topical overlap. Every one of these sets is a candidate for consolidation into a single canonical page with the rest 301-redirected into it.
Two of these are near-exact filename twins — what-is-an-llm-gateway-complete-guide-for-enterprise-ai-in-2026 and the same slug with -2 appended, plus best-open-source-mcp-gateways-in-2026-2 and top-5-ai-governance-platforms-in-2026-5. Duplicate-suffix slugs are the clearest signal that publishing is outpacing the inventory check.
Coverage map
The highest-value tracked terms, the number of published articles matching each, and the article best positioned to be the canonical. Where the page count is high and the position is low, the fix is consolidation — not another article.

The brief
Each of these targets keywords with zero or near-zero existing coverage on the domain, so none of them will cannibalize a page that already ranks. They are ordered by cluster, and within each cluster by combined search volume.
Before the next twenty
Writing all twenty of these will add coverage. It will not recover best ai gateway from 30, best mcp gateway from 23, or mcp governance from 26 — those three sat at 1, 1, and 2 in mid-August and fell while the article count kept climbing. The recovery sequence is: pick one canonical URL per duplicate set above, merge the strongest sections of the others into it, 301 the rest, and point the internal links at the survivor. Then publish into the gaps, where there is nothing to compete with.
